Staging

Staging

Simply put, home staging is the process of getting a home ready for sale. The key to staging is to “depersonalize” a home so potential buyers can visualize themselves living there. The more neutral and generic a home appears, the more appealing it is to potential buyers.

At its most basic, home staging usually includes basic recommendations for paint colors, decluttering techniques, and placement of furniture. Depending on the budget of the homeowner, however, as well as the target asking price for the home, staging can also include renting furnishings, art, and accessories, reupholstering existing furniture, and replacing wall and floor coverings.

The success of staging lies in the fact that homes that have been staged have statistically sold quicker and for more money than comparable homes that have not been staged.
